We bought a new home in march. It is a brand new home, with brand new First Alarm smoke/CO detectors.

The very first night, we noticed the iving room (main) smoke alarm was 'chirping'. So we tried to replace the batteries, but when we did, all of the smoke alarms started going off (they are hardwired).

We took out the new battery & dealt with the chirp. It is getting to be too much.

So we are trying to fix it, but everytime we replace the batteries, the alarms are silent for a little bit, & then. I have a swivel sweeper, the original series, that is about one year old and is losing power. The battery has been replaced but it still seems weaker than it used to be. The brushes do not turn as quickly and the overall pick-up is not as strong as it was when it was new.
