Hello,I just updated from a 2012 Audi A7 (C7) to a 2019 Audi A7 (C8) and I am looking for adaptations and coding for the items listed below.1. Needle Sweep in Virtual Cockpit2. Display transmission gear for 'D' and 'S' drive modes3. Change the Parking Assist shutdown speed threshold4. Headlights - enable 'Off' option.
US vehicles have this option for speeds 0-6 mph. Canadian vehicles do not have this option at all5. DRL (Daytime Running Lights) Off Option when vehicle is in Park with EPB applied (C7 worked this way from the factory)6.
Seat Symmetry + Passenger Seat Control7. Enable Ability to lock car with Engine running8. Enable Lap TimerI had enabled some of these adaptations on my old C7 with my HEX-NET adapter, so obviously I'm looking to tweak the new ride. I've provided my auto-scan for the C8 below.Has anyone had any success with adaptations and coding on the C8's?Thanks in advance.

Enable Lap Timer1) Byte 1 Bit 0 like in almost every instrument cluster. But it is not always a classic needle sweep but it can very from some kind of introduction animation.2) not possible I think.3) Channel with ID IDE03782 in Unit 094) What does that mean?5) Byte 2 Bit 2 in Unit 09 I think.6) What does that mean?7) I have no idea at the moment.somewhere in unit 46 propably.8) Byte 1 Bit 3 in unit 17.
Hello hadez16,Thank you for the coding information. I have provided some clarification below for items 2, 4, 6, and 7:2. I believe that this should be possible as I was able to enable it on my C7 and I have seen that other Audi owners were able to enable it on the Q7 4M with the Virtual cockpit4.
On the C8, the headlight switch is a soft-touch switch that cycles through the available lighting modes with each subsequent press of the switch (For Canada: low beams, parking, automatic). However the manual states that the US models have an additional option 'Off' that allows the low beams to be turned off with vehicle speeds between 0-6 mph. I would like to get this option in Canada to be able to turn off the low beams when the car is parked.6. I found this adaptation at the following link that was used on a Q7 4M7.
I think that you are correct on unit 46 as I found this adaptation at the following link that was used on a Q7 4M. A.Select Control Moduleb.06–Seat Mem.

To unlock the vehicle, the key fob Unlock button must be used.).
A.Select Control Moduleb.09-Cent. Elect.c.Adaptation – 10d.Chanel IDE03782-Switch-off speed for parking assiste. Stored value will not populate in the stored value box – unable to make change. Tried with “Security Access – 16” with security code 20113 which was accepted, but still no luck.I have the same result on our A6. The module is actually responding to the channel read with 'Conditions not correct or request sequence error'. Although that will not help with the issue at hand, I will work on making the error clearer to the user in the UDS Adaptation dialog.
. Uncompress the file. Double-click on 'Install.exe' to install the drivers. Plug cable into any computer's USB port. 'Found New Hardware Wizard' will start and it will ask you 'Can Windows connect to Windows Update to search for the software?' Select 'Yes'. Select 'Install the software automatically'.
After the installation is complete, click 'Finish'. 'Found New Hardware Wizard' will start once again because there are two drivers for this cable. Go through the same steps as explained above to install this second driver. If install is successful, move onto Step 2.If installation fails, see below: Troubleshooting: If Drivers Failed To Install. Installation failed?.Unextract the file into any folder.
Then while your cable is connected to the computer — go Device Manager. Windows Vista/7/8/10: Control Panel » System » Device Manager. Windows XP: Control Panel » System » 'Hardware' tab » Device ManagerYou'll see a device similar to 'USB Serial Port' under either 'Other devices' or 'Ports (COM & LPT)'.Right-click and choose 'Update Driver Software'. Like this:Then select the location where you unextracted Driver Pack 2.
Let it install. STEP 2: Discover Port Number that VAG-COM KKL Cable is UsingGo to Control Panel. Windows Vista/7/8/10: Control Panel » System » Device Manager.
Windows XP: Control Panel » System » 'Hardware' tab » Device ManagerExpand 'Other devices' or 'Ports (COM & LPT)'. Whichever contains 'USB Serial Port'.Next to 'USB Serial Port' — you'll see a number. If the COM port number is between 1-4, then everything is fine. Move onto Step 3.If the COM port number is above 4, then we'll have to change it so it's between 1-4. Here's how.Right-click on 'USB Serial Port' and click on 'Properties' — as per below pic:Then:. Click: Port Settings. Click: Advanced. For 'COM Port Number' — you MUST choose any number between 1-4.That's it!
Now let's test if everything is working. Move onto next step below. STEP 3: Test Everything is WorkingCable should be plugged into computer. Start VCDS-Lite software. Click 'Options' button. You will see 'Select COM Port' box.
Select the 'COM Port' number as explained in Step 2. Click the ‘Test’ button.
If everything is good, it should display 'Interface Status: Found!' . You can now connect other end of cable to car. Turn on ignition. And you're ready to start diagnosing! If test is not successful — check the following:. Other software or devices using USB ports or that same COM Port could be conflicting. You should uninstall the suspected software or device for troubleshooting this problem.
It should be noted that VAG-COM 409.1 KKL cable does not work on vehicles running on CAN-BUS System. Cable must be plugged into the vehicle with ignition ON. Test the cable with each COM Port from 1 to 4 in Windows Device Manager. Make sure that the driver is installed and configured as explained in Step 1. More Troubleshooting Tips:.
Only Audi, Volkswagen, Skoda and Seat vehicles are supported. Other brands will only work for generic OBD-II functions.
If VAG-COM 409.1 KKL cable doesn't connect — or if you get the error message 'Can't Synch Baud Rate' — then go to Options and set Start Baud to 9600. If 9600 doesn't work, try 4800 and 1200. Turn the vehicle's ignition OFF and back ON after each failed attempt to connect. If you have installed VCDS software before or from another source, uninstall all versions of VCDS software right now, and delete directory 'C:Ross-Tech'. Then install latest version of VCDS-Lite software by clicking. For further information and instructions for troubleshooting, visit the following links:.
