So far it does have LHC + Von Leon.They have custom recipes, a unique system that substitutes HP washing, and much more.Whatever you do, don't try MapleRoyals.
They've been working on their new source for 4 years now. They barely got the simple stuff like guilds working. HT is STILL broken. Endgame is just White Scrolls + Chaos Scrolls. Really boring.
Overall, the server is a joke and I too am not sure why it's so popular. Legends is held back by its Twitch level community, but is still my favorite out of them all. The staff is really good at what they do most of the time and 2x just feels right. Royals has the worst corrupt staff and most bugs, but has been around the longest. Can't speak for Khaini, but SlimeTales is a pretty interesting customized game. Bad history on the staff but they did a good job removing HP washing.

Global has zero washing due to no NLC and HT as their endgoal. It also has a very active community despite its numbers (HHG1 and Maple Island are packed as hell). Global is also the hardest due to vanilla 1x EXP curve and Victoria Island mobs only (atm that is).If I were you, I'd try Legends and Global if you're interested in pre-BB.
