Hey guys,I've recently got a 2nd hand nitro model where the electrics were shot. Question first and backstory second:How do i bind a transmitter without a bind button to a receiver in the car? 2.4.Backstory:I connected it up, put some batteries in and tried it out. Instantly both the throttle and the steering were acting very strange, turning all the way to the left, sticking with full breaks on etc.
I did some troubleshooting and tried both the steering servo and the throttle server in both channell 1 and 2, also both separately. Turns out they seem to work fine in CH1 and intermittently in CH2 - they would just freak out if both were plugged in. I replaced the receiver and bound it (this transmitter has a bind button) but still the same results but only when both connected and in CH2 - i replaced one of the servo's and still the same. I've come to the conclusion that the actual transmitter is broken. I have tried binding my kyosho stock and losi stock controllers to the receiver but neither have a bind button! I couldn't find much on google so i ask here.As a side thought, it wouldn't be an issue with the batteries would it? They are fresh batteries.
There are different varieties of 2.4ghz. Some have a bind button, some have a bind plug, but usually there is a specific sequence that needs to be followed.
We really need to know the manufacturers of the transmitter and reciever you are trying to bind. You could also lookup the manufacturer and likely find a manual for the radio on their website.With any used rc, especially one with radio problems it's always a good idea to recenter the servos and the linkage. Take the servo horns off the servos and then turn the radio on, centering the trims.

Then put the servo horns back on and adjust the trim (or subtrim if equipped) and check the servo throws. I'd also try checking the servos with your other radio to completely rule them out.

I'd also try checking the servos with your other radio to completely rule them out.Hey,I have the origininal one that i think may be broken (Etronix Pulse - it isn't listed on the site anymore but very similar to the GFSK).I wanted to try and test it with the losi stock which i believe to be the Spektrum LSR-3000 or the kyosho stock which i again believe to be the Syncro Kt-200. The receiver is Etronix Pulse Gfsk 3Ch 2.4Ghz Receiver (Et1060).I've had a look for the manuals for these two but can't really find much (at work at the moment) - i just need to know how to bind them so i can test to see if it is the transmitter thats faulty.ThanksTom.
I'm not familiar with that brand at all. I did find a Etronic Pulse GFSK with the same ET1060 model number though. The site didn't have a manual but the pictures showed a reciever that required a bind plug. A Bind plug is just a simple servo plug with a jumper wire in it. You place it in the receiver port that says 'Bind', then turn on the transmitter in bind more and turn on the receiver. That's usually the process.As I said before there's lots of varieties of 2.4ghz and they don't all interact with each other.
This is due to the modulation used. Losi/Spektrum uses DSM and DSM2, the Losi 'Pro' radio with endpoints is DSM2 I believe. Futaba has FASST and is also using FHSS for a few models. Kyosho uses FHSS in their Syncro radio.

There's also FHSS2 out there, GFSK and probably others I'm unaware of. Your GFSK receiver will not work with the FHSS Kyosho or DSM Losi. I'm not even sure if a FHSS Futaba will work with a FHSS Kyosho.
