I’m normally a lurker on the subreddit and occasionally upvote folks who have a similar opinion as I do.I had to listen to the ending one more time yesterday, and it definitely feels like SK has taken an extreme liking to Adnan. One that makes me think that the way she is presenting the show is biased in Adnan's favor. I absolutely agreed with Adnan's response of 'you don’t even know me'She doesn't know Adnan, but it sounds like she has been charmed by him. She is even peeved by Adnan's reaction. She speaks about it the next day, the same way as a bewildered crush. After 60 hours of talking on the phone Adnan doesn't even know how to say her last name properly. He looks as SK as a reporter looking for a story, she truly sees him as a friend. Is love too strong a word, perhaps, but I do think that SK feels like she has a vetted interest.BTW if Adnan has charmed SK after a few phone calls, I can just imagine how he has charmed his friends and family in his personal life.

It's always struck me how African American Adnan 'sounds' on the phone. (I'm African American before folks get in a huff. Seriously.) And when I listen to him he sounds so much like those hot guys from HS that you'd talk to on the phone and crush over. When he tells SK 'You don't know me,' it's one of those things guys do that produce in the listener a desire to know the person better; it's a great tactic for making someone invest more heavily in you. It's like they push you away and you don't like that, so you pull closer (as SK did by coming back to it the next day). So I see your point here.how that last conversation sounds a lot like two people flirting, negotiating the terms of their own emotional stakes with each other. And that is, indeed, quite scary for a number of reasons. I do think she likes him as a person but I have no idea where you are coming from on the crush or in love thing.

She sounded totally normal. Was she a little bewildered?

Yes, but I think there has been an immediate intimacy there since they've spoken so much on the phone and because she knows all the details of his life back then. Its easy to forget you don't know someone that well under those circumstances. To suggest she is in love with him is a little ridiculous, IMO. She hasn't given us much of anything to go on as far as her opinion on the case.

I hear this come up, but I think people are projecting stuff onto her. I went back and listened to that scene and I just don't see where she comes off as if she has feelings for him. 'You don't even know me.' In other words, no, Sarah, you don't know whether he is a good guy or not. You don't know if he is capable of murder or not.

You said you 'don't buy' the argument that he was heartbroken over Hae dumping him, but how would you know? You don't even know him.Yes, those hours you spent talking to him made you feel like you got to know him well enough form judgments about his character.

But-according to Adnan himself-despite all those hours, you still don't know who Adnan really is.You don't even know him, Sarah. And you heard it straight from the horse's mouth. That exchange they both had of the 'you don't even know me' struck me as memorable, not because of the content but for the same reason as you found it memorable. There is a crush/love/lust/infatuation there from her part to him, and it seems like it isn't matched by him.More than that exchange being memorable, is the fact that, as obvious as it is, why would you include that in the show, she wasn't the only one editing these conversations, surely the TAL team went through each episode before being released. It was on the show because the producers wanted it there, it may have been deliberate to create a 'good tape' similar to what we see in reality shows, or no one dared to say anything before it was released.
